I appreciate how well these rugs hold dirt. They shed in a way I don’t like. I have to empty the dirt cup from my daily vacuuming because it is a rechargeable vacuum. The lint filter was so clogged with lint that when I tried to wash the second one yesterday, my washer wouldn’t drain. I had to drain the washing machine of over a gallon of water, clean the lint filter, and then try again. There was so much rug lint in the filter that it was overflowing. After I was finally able to rinse and drain the washer, I cleaned the lint filter again, and there was a LOT of lint on the screen. Before using the mats, I recommend that you: 1. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum, and then vacuum some more. 2. You should clean the washer’s lint filter. 3. 4. After cleaning the lint filter in the washer, wash the mat. 5. So that you can clean the dryer lint filter, only dry it for no longer than 15 minutes at a time. 6. Before using the washer or dryer for any other laundry, clean the inside.

2. I purchased one of these mats four years ago at a trade show and I adored it! When I went online to purchase another, I unintentionally purchased a fake of the ONE STEP MUD MATT MADE IN ENGLAND. It had a sturdy backing, but when I washed it, it came apart, which made me extremely disappointed. I was overjoyed to discover the genuine article once more on Amazon after further searching! I’m thrilled to say that this is The ORIGINAL One-Step Mud Matt. The original has a thin, flexible backing that is waterproof and simple to put in a washing machine. The fake has a substantial backing that disintegrates. Yes, the first few times you wash it, there will be too much lint, but you will be amazed at how well this mat absorbs. For the first two items of washing, I took mine to the laundromat, but I now wash it at home. If you choose to wash it at home for the first few times, you might want to check the lint every few minutes to prevent a buildup in your dryer vent. I’ve been looking for this Matt for four years, and I’m so glad I found him again!! There are a ton of fakes out there that are made cheaply and break easily, as I discovered while searching.
3. The One Step mat exceeded my expectations, despite my slight skepticism about its efficacy. The large-sized mat was what I ultimately purchased, and it now sits just inside my back door. It looks good in the charcoal/black color and does a great job of preventing my two dogs from walking through the sand when they are outside. It doesn’t necessarily magically make the mud disappear, but it definitely absorbs water quickly. I’ll make my Australian Shepherd lay down on it while I towel-dry him. Having fewer fur bunnies floating around on the laminated plank flooring is a bonus because dog and cat hair tends to stick to it as well. The rug will appear brand new after being vacuumed. For my garage door, I’m going to buy a second one. I adore how low profile and non-slip the backing is.
Not Good：
1. Even before we unrolled the rug, the edges were already fraying because I had just taken it out of the shipping box. The rug was simply placed in the box, which was wet from being left outside, without any additional packaging. There were no papers from the seller inside the box containing any kind of information or rug cleaning guidelines. The edges just unraveled because the rug appears to have been cut from a larger rug. Not the quality I had hoped for because our German Shepherds’ muddy, wet paws require a really sturdy rug. And I don’t want my pets consuming rug fibers, so regrettably, we’re returning it.
2. This rug seems flimsy and unimportant. The ends constantly fray after washing. In my mind, the mud tracking carpet performed much better than it did in reality, despite the fact that I have never used one of these before. Even though my dogs are constantly coming and going, I still clean the floors. After being walked over, the paw and footprints are just as unattractive as they were before. Spend less and go with another option.
3. These rugs are poorly made and literally disintegrated in the washing machine, which was completely black. Both rugs are being returned in pieces.! Even though they deserve 0 stars, I gave them 1!! I’m very disappointed, and I DO NOT recommend this.
